You remember when we last came to your virtual WIM’ kroeg, you used the word “rich.” You said my Mamma was rich; something about manners.
We are living on this continent. I read Internet Marketers lately and ‘most all speak of huge success after climbing from the depth of unspeakable poverty, sleeping under a car, three legged table in a rat invested basement. The huge success that followed made them a dude. They look like one. The word comes from ‘a guy who does it; a ‘doing it’ man of action.
Nice description Wim. All of us want to be successful, but not neccesarily a dude, or struggle wth such adversity. Do you think there is another way to success after highschool?
Well, you brought me right to the point that is of the highest interest to me. That question leads to my view of Cafe WIM. The number of people of such grand variety. They come in full of zest and stories to tell friends. Do battle on the chess board. Yet, vulnerable beings.
Look Wim, just wondering. Do you feel that people coming out of university or high school will succeed in finding the right job, by being respectful to one and all around them? For all we know they obviously are respectful and trying to win helpful symphathy. Right?
Yes. I see it as the end part of the process of becoming well-mannered. When we got together here at this virtual cafe, we chatted about Lord Fauntleroy, however super sweet and romantic, that book by Frances Hodgson Burnett was a salute to Motherhood.
How so?
The 7 year old’s Mother, he called “Dearest” was the genius who brought-up the boy the way he would have manners. His mother grafted manners on the boy’s character in such a way that welcoming doors would open to him for his whole life for his becoming respectfulness.
I know you want to know more about this. Even all of how far the manners-issue can go. I am called again, Back in a jiffy.
