Writer Susan

My good Friends of Cafe WIM times,

Letters were written in support of Mr. Girouard’s bill (1881) in regard to the legalization of marriage with a deceased wife’s sister.

The letters were dedicated to Members of the Senate and the House of Commons of Canada that supported the Bill (56.) They were written in opposition to the Lord Bishop of Ontario, who had ruled-out such marriage relationship.

The “Gunhilda” letters were read, a.o. by Member of Parliament Mr Nicolas Flood Davin. who complimented the letters as follows,

“for felicity of expression, cogency of reasoning, fierceness of invective, keenness of satire and piquancy of style, nothing equal to them has appeared in the Canadian press for years.”

Compliments to Mr N.F. Davin who has no difficulty at all with the use of the English language.  Mrs Susan Anna Wiggins was awarded a visit to the Senate and a sculpture of her in the House of Commons Library.

Susan Anna and her husband Dr. E.S. Wiggins built Arbor House that Iris and I -Wim, bought in 1964.  Contact me before April 1st for a useful surprise.
