Living in Ottawa’s former holiday resort Britannia Village is a quiet enjoyable. The village is land sticking-out in an enormous river basin and connected to the city by one road (a peninsula.) So what happens: riverwater air blows into the village, filtered by a gazillion bushes and trees.
Very clean air. One way of feeding a body.
What is the best way of avoiding dreaded illnesses?
A. not getting them.
Am I allowed to smoke, someone asked in answering a room for rent advertisement.
A. you have that body only once, so it depends how long you want to keep it, but if you do smoke…enjoy it, be it all outside, then mixed with full draws of fresh air.
We may as well put all addictions aside. Resist the urge for 7 minutes. The urge will go. Who wants to obey those little tugs anyway? So, once the body is RESET look at good food.
For now, I tell you what I take for breakfast: 3 tablespoons of blueberries. follwed by a cup of oats, add a cup of milk and a bit of water, a full tablespoon of coconut oil, a whisked egg.
Stir to boil. Simmer down for a minute and let stand for 10 minutes, with pan lid back on. Pour in the bowl, add 1 tablespoon of Blackstrap molasses and a touch of apricot jam. Eat slowly.
Visit Britannia Beach, Baja burgers are price-winners, stroll to the Britannia Yacht Club for the ultimate in fresh air and a Membership, or both. Drop by at IRIS’ Art Studio, 105 Britannia Road to see her Magic Circles. Sit down at the Iceconners and delightful Coffeehouse. The best.
Wish you to BE WELL and have GOOD FOOD.
