I noticed that the dog on the dog-walk is
walking slightly flammoxed, in a dense mist.
He used to be pulling ahead, hard to hold.
No longer. Dog obedience training you’d say.
No he has given-up on solving a huge mystery.
Not really the mind for it, so it doesn’t matter.
You can imagine what made him a meek follower.
One day riding an indoor bike with dog on his mat
looking at the rider, furiously racing for a full
half hour but getting absolutely nowhere. Strange.
The dog sees the rider get off. After a good rest,
the bike rider walks over to his car, sits in a restful
chair to drive-off at great speed yet…. not moving
a muscle. I know the dog was puzzled because I saw
him cock his head to one side in my rear-view mirror.
Clearly, a sign of total bewilderment.
From then on he followed quietly on the daily walk
without suddenly pulling ahead, sometimes with a
real jerk.
There you have it, Ladies and Gentlemen a true story
in keeping with a lively cafe sphere, albeit virtually.
