Virtual Cafe WIM Opening March 2 2015
Cafe WIM on 537 Sussex Drive closed on February 02, 2000. All Honourable Cafe Guests and Staff Members are 15 years further in life. I am 15 ahead: plenty of time to get organized.
Or so you would think. I was aiming for February 02 to open Virtual Cafe WIM. Now it is 30 days late. I remember that 30 minutes waiting for an order was not uncommon. I hope you don’t remember that.
I am virtually in The Hague on a terrace opposite the Peace Palace where in the ballroom a young maiden, prettier than all other girls danced through the night in an off-the-shoulder evening gown.
Her Father studied international law. He and his daughter were invited to a soiree. What thoroughly enjoyable, exhilirating time. The International Court of Justice: June 1945, 70 yrs ago. Her name? Iris.
PEACE after 5 years of death and destruction. From that time on the disputes may be settled there. Peace? I look at people on the terrace. Sure, I see a dozen colours of skin, hear their language. 2 Dutchmen.
The small country of The Netherlands is for peace. If any of the big countries would merely ex-hale..the country is gone? No, it would not. Dutchmen would adjust the windmill sails for extra productivity.
There must be a time that that “Civilization” as in the book by Sir Kenneth Clark is simply “unter uns”, that it is part of us. That whenever aggression is on the horizon, a tea party will be all to settle stuff.
As an example of problem solving with tenacious “rebels”:
I tell my Dutch friend how helpless I felt when pigeons covered my whole house. No ‘physicality’ would solve the situation. Then I put nuts where the birds were hanging-out. That is a good idea, right?
My friend smiled politely and carefully wondered if the pigeons eating nuts would stay-away? No, pigeons don’t eat nuts, but squirrels do. They made the pigeons feel uneasy and never came back. He laughed.
Just how do you keep squirrels at a distance, now they are spoiled with all their favorite food for free? A gifted inventor put together an item that emits a high frequency sound. Most animals can’t stand it.
We pushed the chairs back, got up and bowed to the Peace Palace. However, all that all humanity really needs is..a cafe. My life’s work and ambition: sculpting a ‘feel-great’ sphere. Now, I go..virtually.
